Boac barangays received ₱12.2 million from the national government to support local students and buy community event equipment.
The Office of the President released ₱12.2 million from the Socio-Civic Projects Fund to Boac. Each of the sixty-one barangays in the capital town receives ₱200,000. Vice Governor Dr. Romulo Bacorro Jr. received the checks during the 2026 Liga ng mga Barangay National Congress at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. He accepted the funds on behalf of Governor Melecio Go.
Local councils are already planning their budgets. Barangay Buliasnin will split its ₱200k allotment. They will spend ₱100,000 to support local youth. Five selected students entering their fourth year of college will receive ₱20,000 scholarship grants. The remaining ₱100,000 will buy community assets. The village plans to purchase tents, chairs, and tables for public gatherings.
Barangay Chairman Cristino O. Mabunga welcomed the funding. He noted that the money helps the village complete delayed projects. Barangay Councilor Leni M. San Juan agreed. She explained that tight local budgets previously stalled these community purchases. Buliasnin lies in the heart of Boac. Students from this area often travel by tricycle to local campuses or take passenger boats from Mogpog's Balanacan Port to study in Luzon.
