Bila-Bila Festival 2026: Boac Celebrates Culture and Butterflies

Parine na Baya, Tingni ang Bila-Bila!

The Municipality of Boac is buzzing with excitement as it prepares for the Bila-Bila Festival 2026. From May 15 to May 21, the town will transform into a vibrant display of culture, unity, and traditions. This year's theme, "Parine na Baya, Tingni ang Bila-Bila!" (Come here, see the butterflies!), highlights Marinduque???s famous butterfly industry and the community???s shared heritage.

Full Schedule of Events

The festival features a week-long celebration with various activities for locals and tourists alike:

• May 15: Home and Building Decoration Contest (Boac Poblacion Area) and Street Lantern Design Contest (Mercader Street).
• May 18: Handicraft Making Contest at the Boac Moriones Arena.
• May 19: Kite Flying Contest at the Boac Sports Arena.
• May 20: A packed day featuring the "Bila-Bila Mosaic Masterpiece: Wings of Heritage" exhibit at The Boac Hotel, the Philippine Experience Program, and the highly anticipated Grand Release of Butterflies in the Wild at Brgy. Cawit.
• May 21: Food Styling Contest at the Boac Moriones Arena.

Celebrating Heritage and Unity

The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Marinduque and the local government unit of Boac encourage everyone to participate in these meaningful festivities. More than just a series of contests, the Bila-Bila Festival is a celebration of the resilience and artistry of the people of Boac. "Sama-sama nating gawing makabuluhan at masaya ang pagdiriwang ng Bila-Bila Festival 2026," the organizers shared.
