The municipality of Torrijos celebrates its 146th founding anniversary with a successful career fair and service caravan that employed dozens of locals immediately.
The municipal government of Torrijos hosted a successful job fair on May 23, 2026. The event took place at the Torrijos Stadium in Barangay Poblacion. At least 19 jobseekers secured employment on the spot. Local leaders launched the initiative to celebrate the town's 146th founding anniversary.
Dozens of eager applicants arrived at the venue to meet potential employers. The fair gathered 21 participating companies, including 16 local businesses and five overseas employment agencies. Out of 90 registered applicants, 42 qualified for open roles. The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) coordinated the event to help local residents find work.
The event also featured a government service caravan. Residents accessed essential agencies without traveling to distant offices. This initiative streamlined transactions for hundreds of local families. The municipal administration hopes to host similar caravans in the future. The town continues to build new economic opportunities for its community.
